Are you curious about what lies beyond?
“An eye not told what to see sees more.”

My Story
For over a decade I have pursued what lies beyond with my camera. There is the obvious, the old farmhouse with dust washed windows and a peeling paint door, but what lies through the window, on the the other side of the door? The visible signs of the past draw me in, but it is the just beyond that holds my heart.
Through photography, mixed media and writing, I share the story found both inside and out.
These just beyond finds are some of the photography projects I have explored over the past 10 years. I also wrote a blog Paisley Rain Boots about my adventures from 2012-2019. I was published in Artful Blogging and Somerset Studio because of that blog.
I began painting and mixed media in 2020, before COVID hit, and just kept on once I saw we would be in it for the long haul.
These days the iPhone has largely replaced my Canon dslr. There are a few reasons for that: one being a shoulder injury at the beginning of 2023 that halted all creativity for a time. Second, the phone is the camera I have with me all the time, and easier for me to shoot with right now. Third, I have always shot with both, but enjoy editing much more with my phone. Fourth, the phones are pretty good cameras these days. I currently have an iPhone 13 Pro Max. Editing apps I love are Snapseed, Mextures, Alayer, and FIMO.
Current goal is to refresh my learning of Photoshop for my composite photography work, and also to explore ProCreate for the same purpose.
