Found Four

I love using numbers in my mixed media art pieces, but I always thought I needed to have some personal connection to the numbers I used.

I think I have had a breakthrough from that thought. Numbers have a look and feel that I love, but even more so they provide structure in a piece that might be a lot of texture but little else that is tangible. As I found this nature made “4” on the sidewalk this morning, I also realized numbers mark places, and on the old buildings that I love to found what marks their place in the world is their numbers.
