The feel of the wind

How does the wind feel to you?

Often we notice how the wind sounds, but we think less often how it feels.

I had a brief exchange with a fisherman along the channel this morning. He said, “It’s a stiff wind out there this morning.” I said, “It does feel a bit brisk.”

I think he was more accurate than I in his description. The wind was stiff as Atticus and I walked west toward Lake Michigan. Poor Atticus’ ears were flapping away, a feeling he strongly dislikes. I had to lean into the wind to make forward progress.

Yes. Stiff would be a good description of how the wind felt this morning.
